This is my awry situation, or something like that. My parents have a dairy farm since my siblings and I were children. I remember that there was something that prevented the milk truck from reaching the milk tank and it was an old road that went to the dairy. Besides that, when it
rained, that old road started to fill with mud and it was completely difficult to go through it. The car my parents used to have was a Toyota Land Cruiser 1979, in my personal opinion, a real car, I really loved it. We had to cross this road in order to arrive to the dairy. Nobody told us that was
going to be a tricky road. Once, I remember we had to transport the milk to where we had the milk tank. I was like 11 or 12 years because I don’t remember very well. We were my dad, my older brother
and someone that I couldn’t remember in this moment. My dad told us: chiquillos watch out! We
have to go through the road, because if not, there is no way to get to where the milk tank is. My
brother and I were not so sure about it, nor did we know what to do. Anyways, we got into the car but a little unsure of how we were going to get there, there was too much mud, besides it was raining dogs and cats. When the worst part of the road we were coming, we had to accelerate the car. In fact, we did it, we let the car take force. When we were close to cross, the car turned a little and we literally fell into a drain. I got the shock of my life! the jars of milk half overturned around us, my brother and I half beaten, wet with milk and then wet with rain when we finally got out of the car. My dad
made us leave the car automatically. When we finally calmed down and managed to see where we were, we had to go and look for our neighbor from the other farm, completely long of us to give us a hand. Everything was going bad! Fortunately, Luisillo was in home with some friends of him, and they were really kind with us. Actually, he gave us dry clothes and delicious food. When they started to help us, the mud spilled everywhere Finally, the car managed to get out of the mud! It was an
odyssey! When we finally arrive home very late in the night, my mother helped me to carry my muddy clothes out of the car and also gave me hot chocolate! One of the worst days of my life!

My favorite athlete 馃槉
Hello fellows, I hope you’re doing well! As I said in the previous post, I will be posting about my journey in my grammar course, (prepositional phrase) so, today, I would like to share and to talk about one athlete I admire so much and sports that we have here in Costa Rica. To start (infinitive phrase) the story, it’s important to know that the official sport (noun phrase) in my country it has been (verb phrase) the soccer since the last century, and our soccer it’s known worldwide, even though we have excellent runners, baseball players, basketball players among others.. Fortunately, Costa Rica has very talented athletes not only in soccer, but also in swimming like Claudia Poll. Swimming is not a popular sport in Costa Rica, which is a shame, because it’s really beneficial for your health. Anyways, she was the most successful swimmer in the nineties and also she was a blond girl with short hair (adverbial phrase) I said this because of the stereotypes people have about blond girls. I have read about her before on internet, magazines and newspapers, and what a surprise was for me, to realize what a discipline girl she was in that time. When having successful was specific for men and not for women, because of the chauvinism society we used to have. She worked in a very hard way, (Adverb phrase) striving and training very early in the morning every single day through years in order to have more strength in her arms, legs, lungs and body in general. I consider that she had to sacrifice many things, and maybe she argued whether to keep on working or to give up, because the training of a swimmer it’s really tired. On my personal opinion, I am 100% sure that the more you sacrifice the more you win. She cherishes (because I read it on an article some years ago) that both sacrificing and working really hard it’s the key for success, like this idiom: no pain, no gain. I really admire her and her career during all of these years, and not only for that but also because she put the name of Costa Rica very high. Having always a good mood in the life (gerund phrase), it's the best way to put your country really higher as she did.

The beginning..
Hello to everyone behind their cellphones or computers. I hope you're fine and not bored when you start to read this blog. My name is Pilar Barrientos, I'm a normal and dedicated girl in a normal city called Ciudad Quesada. My beautiful country full of nature and kind people is Costa Rica, located in Central America. I'm not accustomed to share my daily life with the people, what I like to do and what I don't, I don't even have twitter! and I don't even share pics of my food on Instagram or Snapchat! I am the worst millennial ever!! D: Now, think about to share my knowledge! (It sounds very weird) now my studies! (This is totally horrible!) I'm an English student. Three years ago, I decided to take a course of English at INA (National Learning Institute, here in Costa Rica) When I was on school and high school, I always loved the subject of English and I wasn’t very bad interpreting and translating everything on my mind, I’m just understood what the teacher was saying. In other words, I always was the tough cookie in my English class. Like I was saying before I was taking an English course and the teacher was really clever in what he was saying. He knew a lot of information about everything you wanted to ask him. He made me love English even more that I loved. And that’s why I decided to choose my major at college 2 years ago, so, if you do the math, 1 year at INA and 2 at college you’re going to have three years full of learning. Three beautiful, complicate and challenges years of my life. My major is called English as a Foreigner Language and it is taught in U.T.N. (Universidad Tecnica Nacional) in Ciudad Quesada. As I was telling you before, I'm not accustomed to say anything about my major but I'm the kind of person who thinks that every single person in this world has something to say or to share with the people, even though if that means to share grammar stuff; but anyway, my inspiring and incredible and super genius professor from college, let’s called him Tato, had the wonderful idea to share our journey in his course, with the rest of the world, that's called Grammar VI YAYY! (of course I wasn't being polite but what can I do?!) so, that's why this blog was born! It has been almost five weeks since we started grammar with him. I have to say that it’s really interesting his classes but at the same time it’s really challenging for me and the rest of my classmates. You should really focus and pay careful attention to him when he starts to explain. Do you know something related with morphology? Syntax? If not, don’t get panic because almost 5 weeks ago I didn’t know it too. Morphology is the
Part of the linguistics that studies the rules that govern the bending, composition and derivation of words! And what about parallelism? Conjunctions, the famous
FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) Yeah, I have heard it and studied
before but let’s say that in a different and simple way, but in this course
it’s a little harder, tricky in so many ways. And my professor it’s really
picky! The main reason of this blog is to share my experience with the last
level of English in my major and if I’m going to survive in this journey! Join
me and let’s start another level of Grammar!-Pilar B.
