Hello to everyone behind their cellphones or computers. I hope you're fine and not bored when you start to read this blog. My name is Pilar Barrientos, I'm a normal and dedicated girl in a normal city called Ciudad Quesada. My beautiful country full of nature and kind people is Costa Rica, located in Central America. I'm not accustomed to share my daily life with the people, what I like to do and what I don't, I don't even have twitter! and I don't even share pics of my food on Instagram or Snapchat! I am the worst millennial ever!! D: Now, think about to share my knowledge! (It sounds very weird) now my studies! (This is totally horrible!) I'm an English student. Three years ago, I decided to take a course of English at INA (National Learning Institute, here in Costa Rica) When I was on school and high school, I always loved the subject of English and I wasn’t very bad interpreting and translating everything on my mind, I’m just understood what the teacher was saying. In other words, I always was the tough cookie in my English class. Like I was saying before I was taking an English course and the teacher was really clever in what he was saying. He knew a lot of information about everything you wanted to ask him. He made me love English even more that I loved. And that’s why I decided to choose my major at college 2 years ago, so, if you do the math, 1 year at INA and 2 at college you’re going to have three years full of learning. Three beautiful, complicate and challenges years of my life. My major is called English as a Foreigner Language and it is taught in U.T.N. (Universidad Tecnica Nacional) in Ciudad Quesada. As I was telling you before, I'm not accustomed to say anything about my major but I'm the kind of person who thinks that every single person in this world has something to say or to share with the people, even though if that means to share grammar stuff; but anyway, my inspiring and incredible and super genius professor from college, let’s called him Tato, had the wonderful idea to share our journey in his course, with the rest of the world, that's called Grammar VI YAYY! (of course I wasn't being polite but what can I do?!) so, that's why this blog was born! It has been almost five weeks since we started grammar with him. I have to say that it’s really interesting his classes but at the same time it’s really challenging for me and the rest of my classmates. You should really focus and pay careful attention to him when he starts to explain. Do you know something related with morphology? Syntax? If not, don’t get panic because almost 5 weeks ago I didn’t know it too. Morphology is the
Part of the linguistics that studies the rules that govern the bending, composition and derivation of words! And what about parallelism? Conjunctions, the famous
FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so) Yeah, I have heard it and studied
before but let’s say that in a different and simple way, but in this course
it’s a little harder, tricky in so many ways. And my professor it’s really
picky! The main reason of this blog is to share my experience with the last
level of English in my major and if I’m going to survive in this journey! Join
me and let’s start another level of Grammar!-Pilar B.
